Der würzige Gorgonzola ist ein italienischer Blauschimmelkäse aus pasteurisierter Kuhmilch, welcher sich auf der Zunge sahnig, leicht pikant und aromatisch zeigt. Sein Teig ist mit edlem Blauschimmel durchzogen und besitzt eine angenehme, geschmeidige Konsistenz. Während seiner viermonatigen Reifezeit entwickelt er eine rötliche Naturrinde, diese ist jedoch nicht zum Verzehr geeignet. Der Gorgonzola Riserva schmeckt auf einer Käseplatte besonders in Kombination mit Birne, Feige oder Trauben, er eignet sich aber auch hervorragend zum Würzen von Saucen.
